The APLU designation followed a comprehensive self-study that included extensive regional stakeholder input as well as a rigorous independent review. The association based its scoring on a variety of criteria that emphasized each university’s economic engagement enterprise development, planning efforts and strategic communications as well as its contributions to encouraging economic engagement among peer institutions.
KUCTC coordinated University assets for economic engagement, including the highlighted accomplishments of education and workforce development, innovation and technology commercialization, as well as community engagement.
The APLU’s designation recognizes KU’s work with public and private sector partners in their states and regions to support economic development. The activities included innovation and entrepreneurship, technology transfer, talent and workforce development, and community development.
