The University of Kansas has a strong tradition of effective technology transfer built on research in such fields as drug development and delivery; education and human development; biosciences, biofuels and bioengineering; information technologies and informatics; and remote sensing. The University of Kansas Center for Technology Commercialization (KUCTC) works with researchers and inventors to insure their intellectual property rights are protected and by licensing their technologies to businesses for commercialization. KUCTC’s mission is to maximize the impact of the intellectual property for the benefit of the University and society by transforming it into useful products and services, as well as by assisting start up companies maximize venture capital opportunities. To that end, KUCTC staff work closely with the KU Business and Industry Outreach unit to foster business and industry relationships and move technologies through the commercialization process.

University of Kansas researchers are continually making discoveries that provide positive impact locally, regionally and globally in such critical areas as cancer treatment and pharmaceutical development, information technology and communications, education training and assessment, enhanced and renewable energy, neonatal optimization devices, to name only a few. To assist with providing solutions for your business and technology needs a list of KUCTC technologies are available through the Kauffman Innovation Network, Inc.’s iBridge Network.

We welcome you as a partner in the commercialization process of promoting our technology to benefit society. KUCTC has developed a guide for doing business with KU as well as professional staff who can work with you to negotiate an amenable agreement related to our technologies and intellectual property.
